About William S. Wolfson, Attorney at Law

I am a third generation Hunterdon County, New Jersey resident. My family has lived and worked in Hunterdon County since 1918 when my grandfather bought a farm near Frenchtown. In 1938, he and my now 91 year old uncle started a farm equipment sales and service business.

I attended Hunterdon Central High School and graduated in 1969 Except for college and law school, I have lived and worked in Hunterdon County practically all of my now 52 years. Still unspoiled Hunterdon County is the best place to live and work in New Jersey. My friends when I was growing up are still my friends and some times my clients. Yes, I handle other kinds of cases besides personal and business bankruptcy cases also.

In 1973 I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia and attended Widener University School of Law. I graduated from Widener in 1976 and joined a small insurance defense firm where I learned how to try cases in front of a judge and jury. I convinced my boss that we should have a practice in bankruptcy and debtor –creditor law and began a successful practice that has continued to this day serving national clients and local businesses and individuals.

In 1978 I began my own practice focusing on bankruptcy, debtor creditor, real estate and civil trial law. Because bankruptcy cuts across all areas of law and involves many very difficult challenges, my over quarter century of experience in different areas of the law and with people from all backgrounds lets me better help my clients through tough, often painful times.

In my firm we use technology to provide a higher level of service to those who have entrusted us with their legal problems. We can file an emergency bankruptcy petition and other bankruptcy court documents over the internet to immediately stop creditors from taking away a client’s home, automobile, bank account or other property.

Our bankruptcy case preparation is speeded by the latest software. While a client sits across from my desk we can obtain his or her credit history and download it into a complete bankruptcy petition no matter how many debts are involved. Using this website our clients are able to to see their files and communicate with our firm electronically and confidentially when the client’s unique password is entered. This permits our clients to view their case status, learn hearing dates and see our progress towards accomplishing their goals at any time.

I truly enjoy what I do. I like to think I make a real difference in people’s lives and to get them through a rough time. I spend almost a week a year attending continuing legal education courses and seminars so I can keep up and serve my clients better. I enjoy speaking and writing about legal topics. If you would like a speaker for your group please give me a call at  908-782-9333 or end me an email and I will be happy to make a presentation to your group.

I have been married to Barbara for 25 years. We enjoy reading, traveling, animals, boating, the beach, hiking and just being out doors. I am a passionate New York Yankees fan in the summer and root for the Jets, Eagles and Green Bay Packers in the autumn. I recently began learning about wood working and salt water fishing.

I know how tough this time can be for any one. That is why our first office meeting is at no charge.
